Money issues
The Indian currency is the Rupee (1 INR = 100 Paise).
One indian Rupie equals ca. 0,02 Euro.
1 Euro equals ca. 55 INR.
We propose to take traveller-checks that can be easily exchanged at Indian Banks. For everyday life a Cirrus, Maestro or Credit Card might be useful for withdrawing cash at ATM’s. In addition to this, we propose to take some Change/money with you in Euro, US-Dollar or Britisch pound. We do not recommend you to open a bank account in India. For emergency-cases we have good experiences with Western-Union or similar agencies, which transfer money in real-time.
